Completed 80k debut adult rom-com. Single POV, first person, and dual timeline.

As if Kit Stevens' grandmother dying wasn't enough, her boyfriend of two years breaks up with her at the funeral after she vomits on his shoes. Now forced to move into her college’s student housing still shrouded in grief, Kit’s misery quickly turns to rage when she discovers she'll be living in the connected single dorm room next to her ex-best friend and current nemesis, Benjamin Daniels.

One shared bathroom. Thin walls. A living hell.

It’s hard to believe that just freshman year, they'd become unlikely friends after a night of tipsy banter and burning kisses. Together, they survived boring lectures, frat parties, homesickness, her estranged mother, and finals—but a lot can change in three years.

Kit and Ben, both reeling over their similarly imploded love lives, eventually team up to navigate their respective heartbreaks. From crafting dating profiles and reading tarot cards to cathartically screaming in the woods, something that began as hate starts to look a lot different under the guise of a How To Get Over Your Ex bucket list. Alternating between Ben and Kit's blossoming friendship freshman year and their reconnection three years later, both timelines force Kit to question if she and Ben can ever be “just friends.”
